Inspiration
Donegal Scenery
Our surroundings provide a lot of inspiration for our work.
Donegal is filled with beautiful sights, from natural, rugged landscapes, to historic buildings, each rife with our heritage.
We hope those visitng Donegal would like a little memento for their trip, and those who have moved away might enjoy having a piece of home with them, wherever they are.
Local Flora
All of these plants and flowers grow in and around our studio.
The serenity and quiet beauty of these flora always spark joy in us, as their vibrancy remains strong, even on the most dull days.
We hope that the drawn, carved, or impressed versions of these plants bring a little happiness to those who see our work, and perhaps remind them of the beauty of the little things in life.

Irish/Celtic Symbols
Tradition is a big inspiration in our work. The pride of our heritage inspires us to re-visit and explore both Irish and Celtic symbols.
These symbols provide the basis for unlimited design potential. Simple yet intricate, the designs/patterns are beautiful in their own way, but their hidden meanings provide an extra narrative to our work, and changes the story of a piece.
We hope that these patterns intrigue and inspire the viewer to create their own narrative, whether in relation to themselves, or someone they may gift a piece to.
A version of the infinity knot, the meaning behind a Triquetra can be the same as the Triskele i.e. the connection of 3 separate things, in a continuous cycle.
The meaning of the Triskele varies, but always refers to a collection of three things e.g. land, sea and sky, or past, present and future, or the celestial, the physical and the spiritual etc. Every meaning revolves around inter-connection, a continuous cycle between 3 separate points.
Also originally linked to Christianity, this cross is now linked to protection and safety. It was traditionally made, blessed, and hung in a home to ward off evil, fire and hunger.
